Airside Winter Safety World (AWSW 2016)
Held at London Stansted’s prestige Diamond Hangar, Airside Winter Safety World 2016 tackled the continually evolving challenges and developments within aviation.
Safety is at the centre of all things we do in aviation and none more so than within Winter Operations, which is why that particular theme runs as a core stand throughout the event. As part of this, we have a great oversight of what is happening from some of our regulators and aviation control authorities. AWSW 2016 brought together Airports, Airlines, Regulating Authorities, Air Traffic, Service providers and Suppliers, who attended as delegates, exhibitors and speakers with their unique expertise in aviation and safety.
However competitive the aviation market is, the people within it have a common goal – always wanting to improve, striving to be safe and working collaboratively together. Understanding best practice and looking and how others do things differently is often a catalyst for how we change. This event featured case studies on how fellow airside operations teams from Toronto Pearson International, Denver International, and ADP Charles de Gaulle Airports plan and execute successful Winter strategies. Understanding the future regulations and potential impacts was also covered by our speakers, with shared case studies detailing how initiatives and technologies can help us become more compliant with regulations to become a cleaner industry over the next 24 months.
Delegates were also given the opportunity to experience some of the latest Winter airside equipment and technologies for themselves, with live demonstrations from the likes of SIB Brushtech, John Deere, SNOCOM, and JBT. Plus, supplier narrated ramp displays and live aircraft de-icing.
